it's been a while, we've been so busy but I thought I'd share our christmas with you! we started with an early christmas dinner with glens family, it was like pre-christmas and I spent a few days after getting over a food baby. we decided to cook a lot of our meal on christmas eve as we were going to my parents on boxing day and wanted to make the most of the mountain of food we bought. my favourite part of the meal is pretty much always the stuffing and cranberry sauce and I love to make my own (I have so much in the freezer for emergencies).
we wore plaid all day, and most other days around christmas, also I never want to take down christmas decorations they're just so dreamy. These lights in our bedroom are still up as I don't have the heart to take them down, maybe they'll just be our year round decor too!
my littlest cousin asked my brother to read her a story and this unbelievable cuteness ensued.

we've had a fun couple of weeks adventuring and seeing family. it's been busy, full of driving and hectic at times but so much fun getting to travel around together. the weather here is always so mixed bag so we had plenty of 'oh no it's pouring down' moments but we always come prepared with coats and hats and umbrellas (we're northern it's a given).
first holiday stop was my parents house for my mama's birthday, we got her a deck chair, which hopefully weather permitting she might still be able to get some use out of before autumn appears. the whole fam went for afternoon tea, we over stuffed ourselves and enjoyed the sunny afternoon.
next stop was a couple of days drive around the lakes, cockermouth and keswick to see some beautiful hills in the sun, which lasted until we hit the cumbrian border and it started pouring and didn't stop for about 3 days. (typically english weather)

we had such a busy couple of weeks, we've had the car so we've been doing a lot of travelling and adventures while we have the chance.. we kicked of with golf, lots of golf all week long and i (katy) have a hidden talent apparently, maybe i'll go pro (haha).
we've took advantage of the sunny weather and went for picnics and even had an impromptu night of camping out near the Scottish Borders at Ruberslaw campsite, which we loved even though we arrived at 11pm and had to set up our tent in the dark. it was certainly an adventure though and the campsite was perfect. our next camping adventure we're thinking of heading off to the south of wales for a little holiday.
this last week was the most exciting of all as it was graduation day! (how have 3 years passed already?) my parents, brother and gran all came up for the afternoon and watched me graduate, which was just the most exciting and scary moment at the same time. but now i just get to embrace being a graduate!

we went to the hoppings! a huge fun fair that happens in newcastle once a year, there are rides and food and pretty much everything you'd expect from a fun fair.
we're not big ride people so we just watched other people look nauseous while we enjoyed our food. which is honestly the best part of a fun fair right!

we've had such a busy time this past week so we wanted to take sunday just for ourselves. we grabbed our bikes and decided to head up to a garden centre about 4 miles from where we live. as i've been meaning to get some plants for outside our door. we had panini's and potato salad from the deli, picked up some little flowers to plant and sat in the sun.
